Singing Willows Welcomes New Performer To Their New Inclusive Children’s Musical Theatre Project
We are delighted to announce that Singing Willows has found the new performer joining our exciting inclusive children’s musical theatre production, Singing Willows and The Magical Bed. We are thrilled to welcome Amy Murray as our BSL performer for the project.
Meet Amy Murray
Amy is a Deaf performer and freelance artist working across theatre and film. She has toured extensively in children’s theatre, most recently performing in The Detective Dog, an inclusive, high-energy production combining BSL, music, and visual storytelling.
Alongside performing, Amy is currently involved in several research and development projects for both children and adult audiences. She will also soon be performing at the Wildhood Festival. In addition, Amy is developing her own creative work exploring Deaf identity through comedy, while continuing her work in film and art department roles.
Amy was drawn to Singing Willows because of its magical and imaginative world, where storytelling, music, and moments of wonder, including a very special magical bed, bring the story to life. As a performer who loves musical theatre and song, she was especially excited by the show’s playful and musical nature. Accessibility is deeply important to Amy, and she is passionate about ensuring Deaf and hard of hearing children can fully experience the joy, excitement, and magic of live theatre.
We are incredibly excited to begin this next stage of development with Amy and can’t wait to share more updates about Singing Willows and The Magical Bed soon.
